What to Do When the Dream Comes Dressed in Fear

What to Do When the Dream Comes Dressed in Fear written by John Jantsch read more at Duct Tape Marketing

ocean

Pretty much anyone who has chased a dream – launched a product, opened a business, set a goal – has experienced moments of fear. In some cases fear so gripping it derails, but mostly feared cloaked in some form of self-doubt that's just strong enough to keep you stuck where you are.

When I experience long stretches of uninspired effort and excitement, I know it's time to revisit the essence of my dream.

See, my dream only looks like building a successful business. It's why I do what I do that's at the core of my aspirations – and that's what I must protect at all times. Reaching my dream requires that I get up every single day ready to fearlessly tackle the world of my highest priorities, even against the constant pounding of the world pushing against me. Sure, dramatic, but I'm guessing some of you know that feeling.

When I do feel I've veered off the path or landed in a deep rut, I find my way back to center by assessing how I'm doing in the following three areas.

Am I giving more than I take – and mindful of the ratio

This one is huge because at the core my business is about service. If I ever grip too tight on the idea of gain, I fall out of the balance it takes to serve. When I focus on giving – advice, mentoring, ideas, time, treasure – the universe seems to take care of what I receive. Experience tells me there is truth in this only if you can set the right intention for where you are headed and then detach from how you actually get there.

Am I helping those who need help – not just those who can help me

I was having a conversation with a friend, and he asked me what I thought of those endorsement requests people send via LinkedIn. I told him I thought they were silly because nobody pays attention to those and why would I endorse someone I might not even know?

I brushed his response aside, and then a day or so later it hit me like a ton of bricks. He said, sure, but what if a little thing like that meant a lot to that person? What if, they valued the gesture far more than you did – what would that cost you?

It made me think about how easy it is in the rush of trying to grow a business or brand how easy it is to forget how easy it is to help other – even if they have no apparent way to help you.

Am I letting myself be vulnerable – it's the only way people can help me

This is by far my greatest challenge. I want to be right, I want to have the answer, I can do it all myself. That's what my ego tells me and in some instances, it's what moves me forward, but it's also a sure-fire way to miss incredible opportunities.

People naturally want to help when their help is seen as needed, useful and invited.

Letting go of being right, asking others for their opinion and being open and interested in the dreams of others is how you invite people and ideas into your dream that are equipped to help you strip away layers of fear and even elevate your vision to places you had not even considered hauling it.

That's all for today – thanks for letting me share!

Left media ENRAGED at pro-gay rights RNC event featuring Pamela Geller

The left was out in full force at our Trump LGBT event at the RNC. Hoping to cast the event in an ugly light in order to cover for their unforgivable defense of jihad and sharia (codified Islamic law that mandates that gays be hanged from cranes and thrown off buildings). Leftists did not disappoint in their vicious, disgusting smear of a breakthrough event.

My favorite was James Kirchik of the Daily Beast, who insisted he was fair and open-minded. The title of his piece?

Racists, Idiots Sociopaths Get Down at the RNC's Big Gay Party

“You gotta love Trump!” the shrieking harridan shouted, “because he gives them all the middle finger!”

That is considered fair and objective on the left.

IMG_3251

There enemedia was obsessed with my fabulous top.

The Washington Post:

Europe is “a living hell of fear and violence,” said Wilders, a leader of the far right, adding that “we are at war” with Islam. Activist Pamela Geller followed; clad in a rainbow-colored blouse with “Love Will Win” scrawled across it, she compared political correctness to sharia law and said the greatest threat to the gay community is Islam.

CBC:

Right-wing commentator Pamela Geller, wearing a rainbow-bedazzled shirt, opened the after-party with a joke: “So, a jihadi walks into a gay bar.”

And my fashion stalker Rosie Gray over at Buzzfeed (we crossed swords before, remember?) said nothing about me in the article (despite the long interview I did with her),  but ran this pic below:

buzzfeed geller

MSN: Gay Republicans for Trump confront 'most anti-LGBT platform' ever

And following Tuesday's roll call vote to nominate Donald Trump, self-described “gays for Trump” hosted a DJ night, boasting on the invite that “gays throw the best convention parties.” Right-wing commentator Pamela Geller, wearing a rainbow-bedazzled shirt, opened the after-party with a joke….

You get the gist. No substance, just malicious silliness.

We already knew that the Democrats and the left are against free speech - remember Hillary and the scapegoating of the Muhammad video producer. She knew it was jihad, but she indicted the First Amendment.

And then there was Salon.

“Far-right.” “Anti-Muslim.” “Far-right.” “Anti-Muslim.” Salon's hopeless Ben Norton, sputtering with rage and hate against gays who depart from left's reservation and human rights activists who dare to oppose Sharia oppression of gays, has run out of words with which to tar us, and so, like a stoned parrot, keeps repeating the same smear terms again and again: “far-right.” “Anti-Muslim.” That's what, in his mind, makes Wilders and Milo and me into demons to be shunned by all good people, but what, really, is their substance? We want freedom of speech, individual rights, equality of rights for all. We recognize what Norton denies: that those freedoms are threatened by elements of Islam itself, not just by a “minority” of “extremists.”

Does that make us “far-right”? Only in the minds of those who want to defame us by comparing us to Nazis, as Norton does when he says: “The rhetoric was strikingly reminiscent of the extreme anti-Semitism of the early 20th century, yet directed at Muslims instead of Jews. All of the speakers explicitly condemned Islam itself, not just Islamic extremism.” What Norton doesn't mention is that Jews in the early 20th century (or any other time) weren't mounting terror attacks and boasting of imminent conquest of the West. They were just going about their business, and were scapegoated and massacred wholesale. To conflate that scapegoating with wanting to defend America against jihad terror attacks is simply monstrous.

rnc-pam-geller

“Inside Milo's “gays for Trump,” virulently anti-Islam party at the RNC,” by Ben Norton, Salon, July 20, 2016:

The most far-right party at the 2016 Republican National Convention may have also been the most pro-LGBT.

Breitbart provocateur Milo Yiannopoulos held a “gays for Trump” party late Tuesday night in Cleveland.

He was joined by far-right anti-Muslim leaders Pamela Geller and Geert Wilders. All three gave adoringly pro-Trump speeches full of anti-Muslim vitriol.

The rhetoric was strikingly reminiscent of the extreme anti-Semitism of the early 20th century, yet directed at Muslims instead of Jews. All of the speakers explicitly condemned Islam itself, not just Islamic extremism….

Milo mentioned his Catholicism, and Geller openly argued that Christianity and Judaism are better religions than Islam, insisting Islamic law subjugates non-Muslims while Canon and Jewish law do not repress those of other faiths….

That's true. Norton doesn't rebut it. Nor can he. He just throws it out as more meat for his leftist hate audience.

Pamela Geller, a leading figure in the anti-Muslim hate movement in the U.S., was next to speak.

To call defense of the freedom of speech, freedom of conscience, equality of rights for all under the law, and individual rights “anti-Muslim hate” reveals more about Norton than about me. He is revealing that he thinks opposing jihad terror and Islamic misogyny and Jew-hatred is “anti-Muslim.” But aren't those who perpetrate such things just a tiny minority of extremists who have nothing to do with Islam, according to the left? Norton contradicts his own narrative.

“Pamela has been fighting against the jihad for several years,” LGBT for Trump founder Chris Barron said as he introduced her.

In May 2015, Geller and Wilders were attacked by Islamic extremists at a “Draw Mohammad” event in Garland, Texas. Geller said the “Wake Up!” RNC party was her first public speaking engagement since the attack in Garland.

Geller opened her speech with a joke: “A jihadi walks into a gay bar,” she began, to laughs from the audience. What does he order? “Shots for everyone,” she said.

The room erupted in laughter. Geller replied, “It's not funny because it's true.”

She said she supports Trump, LGBT rights and “freedom,” proudly calling the Republican Party “the party against jihad.”

Geller - who supports a presidential candidate who wants to deport 11 million people and ban refugees from particular racial and ethnic groups - went on to accuse the left of becoming “increasingly authoritarian.”

Defending the US is not authoritarian. No one has a natural right to enter the US and live in it illegally. Americans have a right to defend themselves.

“You've got to love Trump, 'cause he gives them all the middle finger,” she said simultaneously. “His ban on Muslims from jihad nations is logical, rational and reasonable.”

Geller criticized more mainstream right-wing pundits like Bill Kristol. People in the audience shouted “cuckservative” (a popular insult in the alt-right) and “traitors!”

At one point, she stopped her speech to join the audience in a “Trump! Trump!” chant.

Like Wilders, Geller claimed “Muslim gangs” are raping young girls and threatening LGBT people in the U.S.

“Geller claimed“? Norton should check out the Twin, Falls, Idaho Muslim migrant rape case, and the Orlando jihad massacre, if he doesn't believe such things are happening.

The GOP supports “equality for all,” she claimed, ensuring “no special treatment for special classes.”

“Islamophobia,” Geller maintained, “doesn't exist; it's a myth.”

The left, she added, is embracing Islamism. “It's not PC; it's Sharia,” Geller said….

Angela Merkel ADMITS groups of jihadis are in stream of migrants heading to Europe

In February of 2015, the Islamic State vowed to send a jihad army to Europe via a migration. Now, after millions of Muslim invaders have migrated to Europe and have destroyed the social fabric of daily life, Merkel says that the terrorists are streaming into the country.

Her first responsibility is for the safety and protection of the German people. She failed - monumentally failed. History will not be kind to this tyrant.

“Angela Merkel ADMITS groups of terrorists are in stream of migrants heading to Europe,” By Peter Henn, The Express, Jul 11, 2016

ANGELA Merkel has admitted jihadi groups have smuggled terrorists among the influx of migrants fleeing the Middle East.

More than one million people have come into Germany in the last year after the country's government said they would be allowed to settle there.

However, the massive movement of migrants has caused problems in countries in Eastern Europe.

Speaking today, the German Chancellor said: “In part, the refugee flow was even used to smuggle terrorists.”

The lack of border checks between European nations who have signed up to the Schengen Agreement has been a particular bone of contention.

The Chancellor's comments come after German intelligence boss Hans Georg Maassen announced 17 Islamic State (ISIS) militants entered Europe pretending to be refugees.

It also follows a plot involving a group of Syrian jihadis who planned to carry out an attack in Dusseldorf, in the west of the country.

Mrs Merkel's proposals to open Germany's borders to migrants and refugees last year were initially welcomed by the German people.

However, after a series of sex attacks over the New Year in the city of Cologne by immigrants from the Middle East, public opinion turned against the scheme.

UK imam AVOIDS JAIL for SEX ASSAULT because of his service to Muslim community

A Muslim judge decided this. This is the new Britain, where Muslims are a protected class. Sex assault? Forget it - he served the Muslim community!

Amjad-Nawaz

“Dudley Iman [sic] Mohammed Habibullah avoids jail after being found guilty of sexual assault,” Kidderminster Shuttle, July 8, 2016:

A 69-YEAR-OLD Imam who lead prayers at a mosque in the Dudley area has been spared time behind bars after he carried out a sex attack on a vulnerable woman.

Mohammed Habibullah of St George's Road, Dudley, had denied sexually assaulting the woman but he was convicted by a jury at Wolverhampton Crown Court….

Simon Burch, defending, said Habibullah who had a number of medical problems including heart troubles and arthritis had worked extremely hard for the Muslim community.

Judge Amjad Nawaz told him: “You have not only let yourself down but you have let your community down.”

He stressed it was an extremely serious offence and said: “You gave evidence saying you simply would not have done what you did because it was Ramadan and you would not have had those thoughts.”

The actions of Habibullah, said the judge, had serious consequences for his victim who had been left “psychologically damaged”.

He added that before the offence it was clear Habibullah had been a man of “positive good character” who had given more than 25 years service to the Muslim community as an Imam but he had behaved inappropriately when he had been alone with his victim in a room.

Habibullah was given a six month jail term suspended for 18 months, placed on supervision for 18 months and told he must register as a sex offender for the next seven years.

Dallas Mass Cop Murderer was Follower of Nation of Islam

Nation of Islam …. of course. I reported in my book, The Post American Presidency: The Obama Administration's War on America, Obama's security during his 2008 presidential run was the Fruit of Islam, the male-only paramilitary wing of the Nation of Islam (NOI).

Micah Johnson was a Facebook member of The Nation of Islam and Black Liberation Party, Obama's old stomping grounds. Obama's spiritual guru, Reverend Jeremiah Wright, is a fiery hate pastor in a Black Liberation church.

“What we know about the Dallas gunman: Army veteran reportedly said he 'wanted to kill white people',” By Laura J. Nelson, Nigel Duara, LA Times, July 8, 2016:

The shooter, barricaded in a downtown Dallas parking garage, bantered with negotiators during an hours-long standoff.

He did not seem nervous and said he was not afraid to die.

Dallas police officers murdered by racist sniper

He told the armed officers facing him that he had been preparing for the assault, vowing that he “wanted to kill white people, especially white officers,” according to Dallas police.

As investigators later discovered, the gunman's online activities provided other hints to his motivation.

Micah Xavier Johnson, a 25-year-old black man, showed interest in groups affiliated with the black separatist movement. He had “liked” Facebook pages for the founder of Nation of Islam and for the Black Riders Liberation Party, which are classified as hate groups by the Southern Poverty Law Center.

The rough outlines of Johnson's life that emerged after the shootings in Dallas paint a portrait of a U.S. Army veteran who was violently disturbed by what he saw as a police war against black Americans. He was determined to fight back.

Johnson's ambush took place during a demonstration to protest recent deadly police shootings of two African American men in Louisiana and Minnesota. As hundreds of people marched through downtown Dallas, officials say Johnson opened fire, killing five police officers and wounding nine others.

Friends and family expressed shock over the shootings, saying the attack ran counter to what they knew of Johnson. He had no criminal history or known ties to terrorist groups.

“It's the quiet ones that just do the most devastating stuff,” his friend Israel Cooper told the Associated Press. “You never see it coming. But then it's more expected, like 'I should have known.' ”

Cooper frequently played basketball with Johnson at a park near his house in Mesquite, a blue-collar suburb southeast of downtown Dallas. Johnson, who went by Xavier, had a “cool vibe,” Cooper said, and never seemed like “a violent or rough dude.”

In Johnson's neighborhood, near Interstate 20, fast food joints and gas stations dominate the commercial arteries, with the residential areas tucked behind high walls.

On the last road in a neighborhood dotted with large houses and big front yards, law enforcement and media swarmed a two-story home with a stone facade and a portico above the front entrance.

Inside, detectives found bomb-making materials, ballistic vests, rifles, ammunition and a personal journal “of combat tactics,” a Dallas Police Department news release said. Law enforcement officials believe Johnson frequently went to shooting ranges.

He joined the Army Reserve in March 2009 and served in a troop program unit in nearby Seagoville for four-and-a-half years, according to his service record. Members of the Army Reserve program typically spend one weekend per month on duty and perform two weeks of additional training each year.

He deployed to Afghanistan in 2013 as part of Operation Enduring Freedom and served eight months as a carpentry and masonry specialist with the 420th Engineer Brigade.

Johnson received several medals for his tour of duty in Afghanistan, including an Army Achievement Medal and a NATO Medal.

A woman who served with Johnson in Afghanistan posted on Facebook that Johnson had been “my battle buddy, my brother in arms.”

“I served with him most of all my army career,” Sarah CastaƱeda wrote. “I've been feeling so heavy hearted about what's going on but this just hits too… close.”

In a Facebook post, Johnson's sister mourned the loss of her brother and questioned why he had gone to the downtown demonstration.

“I keep saying it's not true… my eyes hurt from crying,” Nicole Johnson wrote in a post she later deleted. Minutes later, she posted again. “The news will say what they think but those that knew him know this wasn't like him. … This is the biggest loss we've had.”

Dallas activists said they did not recognize Johnson or his name, and had never seen him at a protest.

In addition to his interest in separatist groups, Johnson had “liked” a page for the Huey P. Newton Gun Club, named for the Black Panther Party's co-founder. The group, founded last year, teaches its members self-defense and conducts what it calls “armed patrols” through neighborhoods where the police have killed black men.

In a press release issued last year, the group said police agencies with officers who shoot and kill black people “protect the interests of the ruling class, much as they did in the past with slave patrols in the South and strike breakers in the late 19th and early 20th century.”

“We'd never seen him and we don't know him,” said member Erick Khafre by phone. “The gun club isn't affiliated with him in any way.”

In his Facebook photo, Johnson wore a purple, yellow and gold dashiki and thrust his fist into the air. His cover photo displayed the red, black and green stripes of the Pan-African flag.

Last week, Johnson shared a video on Facebook of pilot whales being killed in the shallow waters off the Faroe Islands in the North Atlantic Ocean.

“Look at the joy on their faces,” Johnson wrote. “Why do so many whites (not all) enjoy killing and participating in the death of innocent beings?”

He continued: “The church members and regular citizens (offspring of terrorist invaders) who stood around watching, cheering, eating food with their families while watching one of our ancestors be beaten, noose tied around their neck, hung up high for all to see… then they all stand around and smile while their picture is taken with a hung, burned and brutalized black person.”

Muslim Migrant Sexual Attack Crisis Comes to America: 'Refugees' Threaten Minnesota Community with Rape

Did anyone with a modicum of common sense expect that what was happening in Europe would not happen here? They are suffering more deeply, of course, because they imported millions of Muslims. The US moved more slowly, but Obama is accelerating the process. So expect the same kind of Islamic terror in American neighborhoods with high Muslim populations.

This news reporting is astonishing. First, because of the obvious. These vicious Muslim gangs are parading through unprotected neighborhoods shouting threats and rape warnings while destroying the property of homeowners. And their actions are escalating. Secondly, no big media is even talking about it. The little media coverage it got scrubbed the “Muslim” (Somali) out of it. But if someone leaves bacon in front of a mosque, it's a national news story accompanied by cries and wails of “a plague of Islamophobia raging across the country,” “Muslims fear for their lives” … and all those outrageous lies designed to shut us up.

“Muslim 'refugees' threaten Minnesota community with rape,” By Leo Holmann, WND, July 6, 2016 (thanks to Nina):

Local media ignore incident or leave out vital details

Screen shot of KTSP TVreport in Minneapolis reveals 'Somali males' entered and harassed neighbors near Lake Calhoun. No mention of 'Somalis' appeared in the verbal or written TV reports and the city's largest newspaper, the Star-Tribune, ignored the story.

A mob of up to 30 young Somali men paraded through one of Minneapolis' more upscale neighborhoods last week, yelling disparaging comments and threats against homeowners.

Screen Shot 2016-07-06 at 2.03.11 PM

A female resident of the neighborhood, obviously shaken in a TV interview, related how she was screamed at by a Somali man who threatened to kidnap and rape her.

“They were screaming at the house that they were going to kidnap you and they were going to rape you,” one Minneapolis resident told KSTP TV. “It was a very traumatizing experience.”

Somalis living in Minneapolis are almost all Sunni Muslims, and residents of the Lake Calhoun area say this isn't the first time a group of Somali men has made an intimidating march through their neighborhood, which is filled with million-dollar homes.

No hate-crime charges are apparently being considered by either the Minnesota authorities or the Obama Justice Department headed by Loretta Lynch.

Police were called to the scene on June 28 about 9:30 a.m. and are investigating the incident as a potential case of terroristic threats. No arrests have been made, and the Minneapolis media appear to be largely uninterested in reporting on the mob threats.

According to a Minneapolis police report, between 20 and 30 young Somali men showed up in front of a woman's house about 9:30 in the morning and started shouting insults. “The comments turned to threats,” the report said.

Nearly all Somalis living in Minnesota are either refugees or children of refugees. They form a burgeoning Muslim enclave created by the U.S. government's long-term refugee policy.

The U.S. State Department, working with the United Nations, has permanently resettled more than 132,000 Somali ”refugees” into dozens of American cities since 1983, according to federal data collected by the State Department.

Get “See Something, Say Nothing: A Homeland Security Officer Exposes the Government's Submission to Jihad,” by former DHS officer Philip Haney and WND Editor Art Moore, now at the WND Superstore!

Over the last decade, the feds have resettled an average of 7,000 Somali refugees per year into the U.S., with Minneapolis-St. Paul receiving the largest number, followed by Columbus, Ohio, San Diego, Seattle and Atlanta. Maine, Texas, North Dakota, Tennessee and even Alaska have also received dozens if not hundreds of Somali refugees.

The most shocking part of the incident may be the Minneapolis media's coverage of the incident – or lack thereof.

A check of the Star-Tribune website, Minneapolis's largest newspaper, did not turn up a single story about the June 28 terror-threatening run through the Lake Calhoun neighborhood.

KSTP Channel 5, an ABC affiliate in Minneapolis, never mentions that those making the alleged terroristic threats were Somalis. The station's video report by Brett Hoffland, however, zooms in on a police report highlighting that the suspects were “approximately 20-30 Somali males” who were making “comments” that turned to “threats.”

“Multiple young men have been harassing them,” Hoffland reported.

“We couldn't get them out,” a woman tells Hoffland from behind shadows, her voice digitally altered to protect her identity. “We didn't know what to do.”

When the shouts of “We're going to rape you” rang out, “it was just a very traumatizing experience,” the woman said.

The Somalis were driving onto the sidewalk and onto the homeowners' lawns, “all while shooting off bottle rockets and screaming” their threats, she said.

“It's a scary thought especially for those who have young children.”

Multiple neighbors took cell-phone videos of the roaming gang of young Somali men.

It's not the first time they've showed up, but on June 28 the threats were “much more personal,” the female resident told KSTP.

The Minneapolis Police Department told KSTP it has opened an active investigation, and police were taking it “very seriously.”

Minneapolis mayor submits to 'Little Mogadishu'

The Somali refugee program has been among the most widely criticized of all refugee programs for the lack of assimilation that the Somalis have exhibited over the past 30 years. At least three-dozen Somali men from Minnesota have been charged since 2007 with trying to leave the U.S. and join overseas terrorist organizations including the Islamic State and al-Shabab. Others have been convicted of providing material support to terrorist organizations. That prompted the state's U.S. Attorney Andrew Luger in April 2015 to admit that “Minnesota has a terror recruitment problem,” but he stopped short of saying the “S” word.

Minnesota politicians and media have for the most part toed the line of political correctness whenever crimes or terrorist activity surfaces involving Minnesota's Somali community, say local activists.

The Cedar Riverside area of Minneapolis is often called “Little Mogadishu” for its swelling Somali community. The city's mayor, Betsy Hodges, has in the past showed up for meetings with leaders of the local Somali community dressed in a hijab – the headscarf worn by Muslim women as a sign of their submission in a male-dominated society governed by Shariah law.

Last year, Ami Horowitz of the David Horowitz Freedom Center filmed a series of interviews on the streets of Minneapolis's Cedar Riverside community, and the vast majority of Somalis he spoke with said they preferred Shariah law over U.S. law, WND previously reported.

Governor tells critics of multiculturalism to 'find another state'

image: http://www.wnd.com/files/2015/10/mark-dayton-2.jpg

Minnesota Gov. Mark Dayton

Minnesota Gov. Mark Dayton

Yet Minnesota Gov. Mark Dayton, a Democrat, has let it be known his commitment to the multicultural model, the same model followed by the European Union which is now breaking apart, is unwavering.

Last October, Dayton told those attending a town-hall meeting in St. Cloud that those Minnesotans not comfortable with the arrival of Syrian refugees and the state's expanding Somali population “should find a new state” because Minnesota's economy “cannot expand based on white, B+, native-born citizens. We don't have enough.”

Comparisons to Europe

The PowerLine's Scott Johnson posted a blog on the Lake Calhoun incident titled “Minnesota men at play,” in which he mused:

“This has become a familiar story out of Europe, but it is something new under the sun in Minneapolis. Although it is big news, I can't find any evidence of the story in the Star Tribune (please let me know if I missed it) – another element that gives the story a European dimension.”

Congress 100% on board with Obama refugee policy

Congress squawked over President Obama's Syrian refugee plans and said nothing about the Somali program that has been going on for 30-plus years. House Speaker Paul Ryan ended up negotiating a deal that fully funded all of Obama's refugee plans, including those from Syria, Afghanistan, Iraq, Somalia, Bosnia, Uzbekistan, Burma and other jihadist hotspots.

Refugee watchdog Ann Corcoran said the vast majority of Americans have no clue what is going on with refugees until they start arriving in their communities. And even then, the quality of local news reporting is often focused on flowery feature stories about refugees getting a new start after escaping war in their homeland. The underlying costs, in terms of the tax burden and risks to public safety, never make into local news reports.

“I guess we should be grateful that at least the broadcast version of the KSTP story used the 'S' word,” said Corcoran, author of the blog  Refugee Resettlement Watch.

“This should be on the national news,” Corcoran wrote. “Just envision this happening in your neighborhood. How are Americans ever going to be prepared and proactive if we don't even know what is happening in the next city, let alone the next state?”

Corcoran says it's important to remember the Somalis didn't just “make their way” to Minnesota. They have been permanently resettled there for three decades by the U.S. State Department and three major contractors – Catholic Charities, Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service and World Relief. (Additional contractors have moved in since.)

“The 'youths' harassing homeowners at Lake Calhoun were born here or came as very small children,” she said.
