Muslims in Nigeria KILL 800+ Christians, injure 800+, DESTROY 100+ CHURCHES

Nigeria's Middle Belt is the scene of ever-continuing attacks on Christian farmers by mainly Muslim Hausa-Fulani herdsmen, including this past week where attacks have occurred in both Kaduna and Benue states. Now a recent report about another state in the Middle Belt, Nasarawa, shows that it too has been the scene of serious violence against Christians. In the period January 2013–May 2016, 826 Christians were killed and 878 injured. There were 102 churches destroyed or damaged.

Beside these, 787 houses were destroyed, as well as nine shops, and 32 motorised vehicles. Many families were completely deprived of their livelihoods. Around 21,000 Christians were reported as Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in different camps inside and outside Nasarawa. Due to the difficult security situation, the authors of the in-depth fact-finding report are convinced that they were only able to report part of what really happened.

Their Nigeria Conflict and Security Analysis Network (NCSAN) report shows that Nasarawa has been engulfed in various forms of conflict since its creation in 1996. Many researchers, policy makers and government officials have explained the conflict in terms of politics, ethnicity and economic contestation over land and resources. In most cases, the religious component of the conflict has been completely downplayed, marginalised, excluded or neglected.

However, field research conducted by NCSAN on the conflicts which occurred from 2013 to 2016 reveals that Christians have been specifically targeted. Emerging evidence suggests there is a strategic agenda to target and persecute ethnic groups that are predominantly Christian.

The targeting of Christians appears to be carried out by the Hausa-Fulani herdsmen and by deliberate government policies to marginalise Christians and Christian communities. This is evident in political power-sharing and domination through traditional rulership. Islamic identity tends to give Muslims undue advantage over the affairs of the state. Indeed, state government policies are crafted to favour Islam and Muslims. The ongoing persecution of Christians in Nasarawa, like many other places in northern Nigeria, has been ignored.

This study unearths the drivers of persecution against Christian communities in Nasarawa and, importantly, it provides the basis for a policy proposition that encourages the need to build common citizenship among the people.

The report is the third in a series published by Open Doors' World Watch Research unit. The first report highlighted non-Boko Haram violence against Christians in the Middle Belt region of Nigeria. The second report investigated in greater detail violent conflict in Taraba from 2013 to 2015.

Pay-For-Play: $12 Million For Meeting with Hillary Clinton

WikiLeaks sheds light on Clinton pay-to-play allegations

Just hours after Hillary Clinton dodged a question at the final presidential debate about charges of “pay to play” at the Clinton Foundation, a new batch of WikiLeaks emails surfaced with stunning charges that the candidate herself was at the center of negotiating a $12 million commitment from King Mohammed VI of Morocco.

One of the more remarkable parts of the charge is that the allegation came from Clinton's loyal aide, Huma Abedin, who described the connection in a January 2015 email exchange with two top advisers to the candidate, John Podesta and Robby Mook.

Abedin wrote that “this was HRC's idea” for her to speak at a meeting of the Clinton Global Initiative in Morocco in May 2015 as an explicit condition for the $12 million commitment from the king.

“She created this mess and she knows it,” Abedin wrote to Podesta and Mook.

The “mess” refers in part to the fact that the three Clinton advisers were discussing the possibility of the former secretary of state pulling out of speaking at the May 2015 event because it was happening one month after the official launch of her presidential campaign and could raise more questions about her role at the foundation.

In April 2015, Politico reported the Clinton Foundation was accepting a “major donation” of at least $1 million from a Moroccan government-owned company, OCP, a phosphate exporter. Politico added that an official at the foundation said it was “unlikely” Hillary would attend the May 2015 event, just weeks after the April launch of her campaign.

It turns out the amount was far bigger - $12 million - and there was a far bigger struggle over whether Clinton would attend because she had a much more extensive role in lining up the money than the public ever knew.

In January 2015, Mook indicated Clinton was still considering whether to attend the event, even though her advisers clearly seemed to be concerned about the appearance of such heavy involvement in the foundation amid questions about its fundraising.

With the subject line, “FYI CGI Africa,” Mook sent an email to Podesta and Abedin on January 18, 2015.

“Came up on our call with HRC,” wrote Mook. “John flagged the same issues we discussed, Huma. HRC said she's sitll(sic)considering.”

Abedin wrote back later that day, and suggested the King would be furious if Clinton pulled out of the event.

“Just to give you some context, the condition upon which the Moroccans agreed to host the meeting was her participation,” Abedin wrote. “If hrc was not part if(sic) it, meeting was a non-starter.”

Abedin added that CGI had not even come up with the idea to hold the event in Morocco, instead it was generated by Clinton herself.

“This was HRC's idea, our office approached the Moroccans and they 100 percent believe they are doing this at her request,” wrote Abedin. “The King has personally committed approx $12 million both for the endowment and to support the meeting.”

Since Abedin was writing this in January 2015, after Clinton had already left the State Department, it is unclear if “our office” is a reference to this meeting being something that was set up years earlier while Clinton was still secretary or something that was put together by her personal office after she left the Obama administration.

“What did these donors get in return?” Charles Ortel, a philanthropy expert who has been critical of the Clinton Foundation's practices, said in an interview with Fox News. “We are scratching the surface now.”

While Clinton was secretary of state, her department in 2011 charged that the Moroccan government was behind “arbitrary arrests and corruption in all branches of government.”

At the final presidential debate in Las Vegas on Wednesday night, Republican nominee Donald Trump demanded Clinton give back large contributions to the foundation from countries with questionable human rights records.

“It's a criminal enterprise,” Trump said. “Saudi Arabia giving $25 million, Qatar, all of these countries. You talk about women and women's rights? So these are people that push gays off business - off buildings. These are people that kill women and treat women horribly. And yet you take their money.”

Clinton did not directly answer Trump's attack, instead focusing on her own questions about Trump's foundation as well as what she billed as positive parts of the work of the Clinton Foundation.

“But I am happy, in fact I'm thrilled to talk about the Clinton Foundation, because it is a world-renowned charity and I am so proud of the work that it does,” said Clinton, adding it had made it possible for 11 million people around the world with HIV-AIDS to afford treatment.

The moderator of the debate, Chris Wallace of Fox News, also pressed Clinton on the issue of donors getting favors for major contributions.

“Why isn't what happened and what went on between you and the Clinton Foundation, why isn't it what Mr. Trump calls pay to play?” asked Wallace.

“Well, everything I did as secretary of state was in furtherance of our country's interests and our values,” said Clinton. “The State Department has said that. I think that's been proven.”

Though in the email exchange revealed by Wikileaks, Abedin suggested Clinton initiated the solicitation of the $12 million commitment, and the aide made it clear it was going to cause a major issue with the Moroccan government if the candidate pulled out of the CGI event that ran from May 5-7 of 2015.

“It will break a lot of china to back out now when we had so many opportunities to do it in the past few months,” Abedin wrote in January 2015. “She created this mess and she knows it.”

Hillary Clinton did not end up attending the event, though Bill and Chelsea Clinton did go to Morocco and moderated various panel discussions.

Lanny Davis, a longtime adviser to the Clinton family, told Fox News that the Clinton Foundation helped 11 million people with AIDS, fed hungry children and said the focus should be on the fact that the Obama administration has said there are indications the government of Russian President Vladimir Putin is behind the hack of Podesta's emails.

“This is the first time we've allowed a foreign power, much less Putin, to interfere,” Davis said.

Davis added that he knows that when it comes to the people who have worked at the foundation, “their hearts were in the right place.” He acknowledged that any time emails like this leak, there will be “optics” problems.

“When you're in the sausage factory, it doesn't always look so good,” Davis said.

743 Christian Refugees Attacked by Muslims in German Camps, Persecution Report Finds

“743 Christian Refugees, Converts Attacked by Muslims in German Camps, Persecution Report Finds,” Christian Post, October 20, 2016:

Persecution watchdog group Open Doors has found that at least 743 Christian refugees living in camps in Germany were attacked by Muslim refugees in 2016, pointing to big failures on the part of German authorities when it comes to understanding the role of religion in the lives of refugees.

“The documented cases confirm that the situation of Christian refugees in German refugee shelters is still unbearable. As a minority they are discriminated against, beaten up by and receive death threats from Muslim refugees and partly by the Muslim staff (securities, interpreters, volunteers) on grounds of their religion,” found a major survey published by Open Doors Germany earlier in October, representing a number of organizations, such as Persecuted Christians and the Needy, European Mission Society Fellowship, and the Central Council of Oriental Christians in Germany.

“Taking these new cases into consideration there are now 743 Christian refugees who have reported religiously motivated attacks. With more staff at hand, a significantly higher number of cases could have been included in the survey,” it added.

The report noted that the latest numbers of persecuted refugees is most likely only the “tip of the iceberg” when it comes to religiously motivated attacks on Christians and Yazidis, estimating that there are high numbers of unreported cases as well.

With the approach of winter, authorities are scrambling to find warm places to stay for the thousands of refugees streaming into Germany every day. In desperation, they have turned to sports halls, youth hostels and empty office buildings. But as these options dry up, tent cities have become the fall-back plan: despite falling temperatures, a survey by German newspaper Die Welt showed at least 42,000 refugees were still living in tents.

The survey further reported that many of the refugees escaped from horrifying ordeals in Syria and the surrounding region, fleeing terror groups and civil war that have created a great humanitarian crisis, but are now also facing traumatizing conditions at German refugee camps, where they had hoped to find safety and security, but instead found injustice.

“We believe that the trivialization, concealment or misuse of this injustice, be it for political or other motives, will give encouragement to the perpetrators and increase the suffering of the victims,” the group stated.

“As a Christian charity, Open Doors is not against Muslims, as CEO Markus Rode has already made clear in a comprehensive statement in January 2015. It is a constitutive element of Christian faith that Muslims are loved by God and are to be met with love and compassion,” it added.

“At the same time it has to be stated that Islam, which is the majority religion in most of the refugees' home countries, is responsible for the massive violation of the human right to freedom of religion. This is for example the case when Muslims threaten to kill converts while invoking the Quran as a basis for their action.”

There have been a number of news reports of Christians facing attacks by Muslims at German camps, such as a case from October 2015 where a convert to Christianity was reportedly beaten unconscious with a baton by Muslim refugees at a camp in Hamburg-Eidelstedt.

The Daily Express shared at the time that the unnamed 24-year-old Iranian victim was saved by more than a dozen onlookers who pulled the attacker off of him.

In its conclusions, the NGOs called for an end to “integration experiments” at the expense of religious minorities in German asylum and reception centers.

Open Doors urged German authorities to consider implementing several different measures aimed at protecting religious minorities, such as merging groups in such a way that the proportion of Christians roughly corresponds to that of the Muslims in the shared accommodations, and increasing the percentage of non-Muslim security staff.

CLINTON LIES EXPOSED: Hillary DELETED Emails With Her Email Server Technician Who Pleaded the Fifth

She's a bold-faced liar. And she is contemptuous of “everyday Americans.”

Today we find out that Hillary deleted emails with Bryan Pagliano, the IT technician who managed her email server. Clinton had said she did not recall having any communication with Pagliano about maintaining her private email account.

Hillary Clinton deleted several emails she exchanged with Bryan Pagliano, the former Clinton campaign official who managed her private email system while at the State Department.

Judicial Watch, which released the emails on Wednesday, say that they undermine Clinton's recent claims, made under oath, that she did not recall communicating with Pagliano about her emails.

The emails are part of a trove of 30,000-plus emails that Clinton and her team failed to turn over to the State Department in Dec. 2014. They claimed that the records were personal in nature and not work-related. (Daily Caller)

“New Email Between Clinton and IT Staffer Who Pleaded Fifth,” By Justin Fishel, ABC News, October 19, 2016:

An email has surfaced between Hillary Clinton and her IT specialist Bryan Pagliano, the man responsible for maintaining her private email server - and critics say that it may undermine her claim that she could not recall communicating with him.

The note was one of the nearly 15,000 additional emails recovered by the FBI, published today by the conservative group Judicial Watch, which obtained it through a freedom of information lawsuit.

The content of the 2012 email is mundane: Clinton is asking Pagliano to fix her BlackBerry, which has receiving message; but it may be significant in other ways.

First, it represents only the second known email recovered between Clinton and Pagliano, aside from a birthday message he sent her in 2012.

And second, some say it may be perceived by as yet another blow to her trustworthiness.

That's because in sworn testimony submitted as part of a separate email-related lawsuit also brought by Judicial Watch, Clinton says she does not recall having any communication with Pagliano about maintaining her private email account. In that testimony Clinton submitted that some version of the answer that “she does not recall” on 20 separate occasions.

“Secretary Clinton states that she does not recall having communications with Bryan Pagliano concerning or relating to the management, preservation, deletion, or destruction of any e-mails in her clintonemail.com email account,” the testimony reads.

“These new emails leave little doubt that Hillary Clinton was less than forthright and misled the public when she wrote, under oath, that she 'couldn't recall' communicating with Bryan Pagliano about her email scheme,” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton. “No wonder Clinton and her agents deleted these emails time and time again.”

While many like Judicial Watch feel Clinton was misleading, it's unlikely Clinton's words will cause her any legal troubles. Her declaration that she does not recall is far different from claiming there was no communication.

Pagliano invoked his Fifth Amendment rights 130 times during a court deposition involving Judicial Watch and did the same in front of a congressional panel. But he also struck and immunity agreement with the Justice Department in return for his cooperation with FBI investigators. The FBI ultimately concluded Clinton should not be prosecuted.

Clinton's campaign has yet to respond to a request for comment about this new email.

VILE: “CLINTON's treatment of DS agents on her protective detail was so contemptuous that many of them sought reassignment or employment elsewhere”

Hillary Clinton's treatment of State Department security personnel was so vile and disgusting that many agents left the agency or asked to be reassigned, according to FBI documents released Monday. This is consistent with the reprehensible treatment Secret Service received at the hands of the despotic Hillary Clinton. “Secretary of State's protective detail was seen as an honor and privilege reserved for senior agents. However, by the end of CLINTON's tenure, it was staffed largely with new agents because it was difficult to find senior agents willing to work for her,” the interview summary states.

Flashback: Washington Post's investigative reporter Ronald Kessler reports, this is how Hillary Clinton treated the secret service:

“Good morning, ma'am,” a member of the uniformed Secret Service once greeted Hillary Clinton.

“F*** off,” she replied.

That exchange is one among many that active and retired Secret Service agents shared with Ronald Kessler, author of First Family Detail, a compelling look at the intrepid personnel who shield America's presidents and their families - and at those whom they guard.

Kessler writes flatteringly and critically about people in both parties. Regarding the Clintons, Kessler presents Chelsea as a model protectee who respected and appreciated her agents. He describes Bill as a difficult chief executive, but an easygoing ex-president. And Kessler exposes Hillary as an epically abusive Arctic monster.

“When in public, Hillary smiles and acts graciously,” Kessler explains. “As soon as the cameras are gone, her angry personality, nastiness, and imperiousness become evident.” He adds: “Hillary Clinton can make Richard Nixon look like Mahatma Gandhi.”

And:

“Hillary was very rude to agents, and she didn't appear to like law enforcement or the military,” former Secret Service agent Lloyd Bulman recalls. “She wouldn't go over and meet military people or police officers, as most protectees do. She was just really rude to almost everybody. She'd act like she didn't want you around, like you were beneath her.”

“Hillary didn't like the military aides wearing their uniforms around the White House,” one former agent remembers. “She asked if they would wear business suits instead. The uniform's a sign of pride, and they're proud to wear their uniform. I know that the military was actually really offended by it.”

Could you imagine the incredible amount of arrogant it takes to tell a highly-trained agent who is protecting your life to “f- off?” That is rude and a reflection of what a horrible person Hillary truly is. How can America elect a person like that? That is not the personality we need as a Commander in Chief.

Now this: “State Department security really didn't like working for Clinton,” By Daniel Halper, October 17, 2016:

WASHINGTON - State Department security personnel so disliked Hillary Clinton that many left the agency or asked to be reassigned, according to FBI documents released Monday.

The revelations come from an interview summary of one unnamed Department of Homeland Security official that was conducted as part of the FBI's investigation into Clinton's handling of classified information while secretary of state.

“ explained that CLINTON's treatment of DS agents on her protective detail was so contemptuous that many of them sought reassignment or employment elsewhere,” the FBI documents state.

“Prior to CLINTON's tenure, being an agent on the Secretary of State's protective detail was seen as an honor and privilege reserved for senior agents. However, by the end of CLINTON's tenure, it was staffed largely with new agents because it was difficult to find senior agents willing to work for her,” the interview summary states.

The official who was interviewed worked for the Department of Homeland Security and was a previous State employee.

He said Secret Service agents also complained about Clinton.

The documents are being released after the more than year-long FBI investigation into Clinton's handling of classified information on her private email server while she served as the US' top diplomat.

The interview summary from the DHS official states that Clinton took an unnecessary risk by demanding a window be open in her armored vehicle on a trip in “occupied territory” in “Palestine,” despite the driver declining to do so due to the security situation.

“CLINTON disregarded security and diplomatic protocols, occasionally without regard for the safety of her staff and protection detail, in order to gain favorable press,” the document states.

The document details a visit to Jakarta, Indonesia, for a photo opportunity with a “'clean cooking stoves' initiative” at an area that security believed was too dangerous.

But Clinton, traveling “with hand-picked media who would present her in favorable light,” demanded they go.

NCTL officials also said Ahmed organised religious assemblies where boys were segregated from girls.

He was also said to have encouraged prayer during the school day through posters and a call to prayer on the school's loudspeaker system.

Both men were also accused of taking part in a WhatsApp chat that discussed the murder of soldier Lee Rigby and the Boston Marathon bombings.

They were cleared of distributing or using leaflets, promoting the view that a married man has an 'entitlement' to have sex with his wife.

The NCTL said their misconduct was serious and Education Secretary, Nicky Morgan, agreed that they should be banned from teaching in England indefinitely.

But Mr Justice Phillips today ruled at London's High Court that the men's treatment had been 'unjust'.

He accepted that important evidence had not been disclosed to the pair and there had been 'serious procedural impropriety' in the NCTL's fact-finding process.

Upholding the pair's judicial review challenge, he ruled their treatment had been 'unfair' and they were reinstated back into the profession….

Politico reported the foundation's coffers grew from roughly $20 million to $250 million shortly after Clinton left her State Department post in early 2013.

The full results from Sunday night's debate are in, and Donald Trump has come from behind to take the lead over Hillary Clinton.

The latest Rasmussen Reports White House Watch national telephone and online survey shows Trump with 43% support among Likely U.S. Voters to Clinton's 41%. Yesterday, Clinton still held a four-point 43% to 39% lead over Trump, but  that was down from five points on Tuesday and her biggest lead ever of seven points on Monday.

Rasmussen Reports updates its White House Watch survey daily Monday through Friday at 8:30 am Eastern based on a three-day rolling average of 1,500 Likely U.S. Voters. Monday's survey was the first following the release of an 11-year-old video showing Trump discussing women in graphic sexual detail but did not include any polling results taken after the debate. All three nights of the latest survey follow Sunday's debate.

Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson has dropped slightly to six percent (6%) support, while Green Party candidate Jill Stein holds steady at two percent (2%). Four percent (4%) still like some other candidate in the race, and another four percent (4%) remain undecided. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

Eighty-four percent (84%) now say they are certain how they will vote in this year's presidential election, and among these voters, Trump posts a 49% to 46% lead over Clinton. Among voters who say they still could change their minds between now and Election Day, it's Clinton 40%, Trump 37%, Johnson 19% and Stein four percent (4%).

Most Republican voters still think top GOP leaders are hurting the party with their continuing criticism of Trump and are only slightly more convinced that those leaders want Trump to be president.

Trump has 75% support among Republicans, nearly identical to Clinton's 76% backing among Democrats. He has 15% of the Democratic vote; she picks up 13% GOP support. Trump holds a double-digit advantage among voters not affiliated with either major political party.

Johnson gets 13% of the unaffiliated vote, but like Stein is in low single digits among Democrats and Republicans.

Clinton continues to lead among women, while Trump has regained his advantage among men. Those under 40 still prefer the Democrat but also remain the most undecided. Older voters favor Trump. The older the voter, the more likely he or she is to be certain of their vote.

Trump remains ahead among whites and has a slight lead among other minority voters. He appears to be making a dent in the black vote, but blacks still overwhelmingly favor Clinton.

Ninety  (90%) of voters who Strongly Approve of the job President Obama is doing choose Clinton. Among voters who Strongly Disapprove of the president's job performance, 89% prefer Trump.

Hillary Clinton jumped on the release last week of an 11-year-old video in which Trump makes graphic sexual comments to say it shows her Republican rival's demeaning attitude toward women. But Trump countered that Clinton was an enabler who allowed her husband, former President Bill Clinton, to sexually assault women for years. We'll tell you what voters think at 10:30 a.m. Eastern today.

Nearly two-out-of-three voters believe the economy is unfair to the middle class.

Voters are even more likely than they've been in the past to say they'll wait until Election Day to cast their vote.

Only 24%, however, say they've ever changed the way they were going to vote after watching the debates between presidential candidates.

AN ITALIAN town has been accused of bringing in apartheid after refugees were banned from buses used by female students.

Migrants in the tiny town of Calizzano, Italy, have been asked to refrain from using local buses when pupils are going to and from school.

The 40 migrants, who are staying in the Lux Hotel, have been accused of screaming, fighting, bickering and engaging in “unpleasant behaviour” towards girls on the bus.

Only 1,500 people live in the town 60 miles from the French border which was meant to host just 24 migrants.

Following complaints from Italians who are annoyed refugees are taking up bus seats without having to pay for a ticket as locals are forced to stand, the mayor brought in the new separation rule.

Mayor Pierangelo Olivieri, said: “I just looked for a solution to a very difficult situation for a community like ours, which is far from centres of interest and has limited facilities and security systems, while hosting 40 guests.

“This is not a ban, but a request made to refugees to use other means of transportation from the ones students use.”

He stressed the initial agreement with the Government was to host 24.

And at a prefecture meeting where he was criticised for the decision, Mr Olivieri officially asked to reduce the number of refugees the town is hosting.

Paolo Pezzana, coordinator of ANCI Immigration Commission in Liguria, called Calizzano a “virtuous community” which was one of the first to welcome and integrate immigrants.

However, Raffaella Paita, leader of the Democratic Party in the region, said: “The mayor's decision to force migrants and students to take different buses is unworthy and very similar to apartheid.”

But the mayor is standing by his decision and said it was “not about racism, but about common sense”.

New revelations from the latest WikiLeaks dump has key Hillary Clinton aides and allies taking heat after they are caught attacking two major faith groups–evangelicals and Catholics-– in email correspondence.

The 2011 email chains are between Communications Director Jennifer Palmieri, Campaign Chairman John Podesta and John Halpin from the Center for American Progress.

Halpin characterizes some members of the Catholic church as being engaged in an “amazing bastardization of the faith.”

Halpin continues, criticizing 21st Century Fox Chairman Rupert Murdoch, CEO of Fox News, and NewsCorp Chairman Robert Thomson for raising their children Catholic, Gallagher reported:

“They must be attracted to the systemic thought and severely backward gender relations,” he writes.

Podesta, a Catholic, does not directly respond in the correspondence.

“I imagine they think it the is the most socially acceptable, politically conservative religion–their rich friends wouldn't understand if they became evangelicals” Palmieri says of the two men.

The Catholic League slammed those involved, saying it “makes one wonder what else Clinton's chiefs… are saying about Catholics and Catholicism.”

Karl Rove called the remarks “thinly-veiled bigotry,” suggesting that “Donald Trump…take a whack at these comments [instead of Paul Ryan]” in the coming days.

Tony Perkins, president of the Family Research Council, said  that these are the same folks who believe in Clinton's “basket of deplorables” characterization of Trump supporters.

“They believe that people who actually want to live by their faith are backwater people. [They see religion as a] glorified social club–if you want to…live your life according to [Scripture], you're going to run into trouble with Hillary Clinton.”

The Constitution frames issues like national security and immigration in terms of what is best for America.

The Supreme Court seemed split on what the Constitution requires when it comes to immigrants, including refugees. Liberal justices refer to constitutional limits on immigration laws, while conservative justices say that the Constitution gives Congress complete discretion and full authority to determine who can cross the U.S. border and who can stay in this country.

Pentagon Blows $500 Million-Plus on Fake Al Qaeda Videos

Talk about a massive waste of taxpayer dollars. The Pentagon, in an outrageous black ops-style propaganda play, spent more than $500 million to hire a public relations firm in the United Kingdom to produce and distribute television-type segments showing al Qaeda acts of violence and jihad.

As Robert Spencer in Jihad Watch posed: “There weren't enough real ones? The Pentagon could think of no better strategy to track al-Qaeda jihadis than to produce propaganda for the enemy?”

It really is an egregious operation, conducted under the auspices of the Obama administration.

The Daily Beast had the full story, based on findings from the Bureau of Investigative Journalism:

“The Pentagon gave a controversial U.K. PR firm over half a billion dollars to run a top secret propaganda program in Iraq, the Bureau of Investigative Journalism can reveal.

“Bell Pottinger's output included short TV segments made in the style of Arabic news networks and fake insurgent videos which could be used to track the people who watched them, according to a former employee.

“The agency's staff worked alongside high-ranking U.S. military officers in their Baghdad Camp Victory headquarters as the insurgency raged outside.

“Bell Pottinger's former chairman Lord Tim Bell confirmed to the Sunday Times, which has worked with the Bureau on this story, that his firm had worked on a 'covert' military operation 'covered by various secrecy documents.'

“Bell Pottinger reported to the Pentagon, the CIA, and the National Security Council on its work in Iraq, he said. …

“In the first media interview any Bell Pottinger employee has given about the work for the U.S. military in Iraq, video editor Martin Wells told the Bureau his time in Camp Victory was 'shocking, eye-opening, life-changing.'

“The firm's output was signed off by former General David Petraeus-then commander of the coalition forces in Iraq-and on occasion by the White House, he said. …

“'We interviewed half a dozen former officials and contractors involved in information operations in Iraq.

“'There were three types of media operations commonly used in Iraq at the time, said a military contractor familiar with Bell Pottinger's work there.

“'White is attributed, it says who produced it on the label,' the contractor said. 'Grey is unattributed, and black is falsely attributed. These types of black ops, used for tracking who is watching a certain thing, were a pretty standard part of the industry toolkit.'

“Bell Pottinger's work in Iraq was a huge media operation which cost over a hundred million dollars a year on average. A document unearthed by the Bureau shows the company was employing almost 300 British and Iraqi staff at one point.”
